Carla Benedetti

I was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where I currently live and work. I studied painting at the Prilidiano Pueyrredón National School of Fine Arts and attended artwork analysis workshops led by Luis Felipe Noé. I am a visual artist and a higher education art professor at the Rogelio Yrurtia Visual Arts Teacher Training College, as well as the National Universities of Hurlingham and José C. Paz.
In my work, I explore the themes of beauty and eroticism. I create images inspired by the shapes and colors of pleasure. My process stems from my own memory and corporeality, which, in turn, invites others to feel included. I invent using fragments of the body—its surfaces, volumes, and textures—seeking within them an abstraction filled with erotic charm.
I find echoes of this beauty in the details of flowers, fruits, plants, and animals. I translate my aesthetic into various formats: paintings, drawings, textile designs, and murals.
In 2012 and 2021, I was awarded the F.N.A. Creation Grant. In 2024, I published my first artist’s book, “Late un Rosa Dentro”
