Nerida Richardson

My artistic research originates from dreamlike visions of urban skylines — suspended landscapes that exist between memory and imagination, inspired by the silhouettes of cities around the world.

Alongside the metropolitan dimension, I draw inspiration from the archaic language of prehistoric rock engravings, reinterpreting their primordial essence through a contemporary lens.

I create animal figures using mixed media, combining plaster and textile threads. These materials allow me to build textured, three-dimensional surfaces. The interaction between relief and woven elements generates a strongly tactile atmosphere, inviting the viewer into an experience that is not only visual, but also sensory.

My work exists in a space of dialogue between ancient and modern, between urban landscape and ancestral memory, transforming dreams into matter.
