ABOUT
EDUCATION

I am a ceramic artist whose practice centers on the body as a site of lived experience, translating internal and often invisible states into tactile, sculptural form. Working primarily through handbuilding and nerikomi techniques, I blur the boundary between functional object and sculpture, allowing vessels, lamps, and domestic forms to behave like bodies under pressure—bearing weight, releasing tension, resisting control, or withdrawing inward. My work privileges physical logic over illustration: mass accumulates, openings strain, and surfaces buckle or soften in response to forces that feel physiological rather than decorative. Recurrent figurative elements appear not as narrative devices but as quiet witnesses embedded within the form, reinforcing scale and embodiment. I favor restraint and material honesty over polish, allowing imbalance, vulnerability, and discomfort to remain visible. Through this language, my ceramics are meant to be felt as much as seen, inviting an intimate, bodily recognition from the viewer.
