Monica Stefanita

Monica Stefanita is a Romanian-born visual artist from Bucharest. Her artistic practice is deeply inspired by the surrounding world, which she interprets through a personal visual language defined by expressive color, dynamic movement, and emotional depth.

She works across multiple techniques, including oil, acrylic, watercolor, ink, and charcoal, allowing her to explore both figurative and abstract forms with freedom and versatility. During her academic years, she also experimented with three-dimensional and applied arts, creating works in sculpture, engraving, mosaic, and stained glass — experiences that continue to influence the structure and material sensitivity of her paintings today.

Through her work, Monica seeks to capture the essence of everyday subjects, transforming familiar motifs into powerful visual narratives marked by individuality, contrast, and refined artistic intuition.

Monica Stefanita completed her artistic training at the prestigious “Nicolae Tonitza” High School of Fine Arts in Bucharest, where she developed a solid foundation in drawing, painting, and visual composition. Her academic journey continued at the Faculty of Fine Arts within the University of Art and Design in Cluj-Napoca, from which she graduated in 2005.

During her university studies, she deepened her understanding of both classical and contemporary artistic practices, exploring a wide range of techniques and disciplines that include painting, sculpture, engraving, mosaic, and stained glass. This comprehensive education laid the groundwork for her versatile artistic language and continues to influence the conceptual and technical depth of her work today.
