Valery Trillaud

Born in Blois, I began capturing my city as a child with my Kodak Instamatic and spent about ten years in Paris for work.

Driven by a life that had become too routine, I embarked on an adventure in the United States, rediscovered my favorite pastime, acquired my first real camera, and traveled for several months in Central America. There, a chance encounter with a professional photographer, whom I accompanied on a photojournalism assignment in Panama, sparked my desire to delve deeper into this passion.

Back in Paris, I frequented exhibitions and museums, devoured books and magazines to awaken my interest in this art, and practiced by photographing scenes of daily life and monuments in the capital before leaving it permanently in 1999 for French Guiana, where I stayed for four years. Between postcard production, carnival coverage, and nature and heritage photography for local institutions, I took my first steps in the profession, traveling throughout South America before living in Nice for about twenty years and then settling in Blois.
