Liana Bratko

My name is Liana, and my creative work is a visual exploration of the resilience of the human spirit through the lens of beauty and transformation. Born in Ukraine, a country with deep roots and a rich cultural heritage, I infuse my works with the power of ethnic symbols, weaving them into contemporary narratives.

​The protagonists of my canvases are often fragile yet unbreakable figures. I use butterflies as a central metaphor — a symbol of metamorphosis and the soul's ability to be reborn even in the darkest of times. My palette is built on profound contrasts: from deep blues and golds to the dramatic union of red and black, symbolizing the eternal struggle and unity of love and sorrow.

​My goal as an artist is to find light where it is least expected. Each painting is not merely an image but a story of how an individual's inner energy can illuminate the world around them. I believe that art should serve as a source of hope and warmth, reminding us of the beauty that cannot be destroyed.

​My works are held in private collections, and each piece is part of my personal manifesto: "Even a single small flicker of light can overcome the vast darkness.

I received my full formal art education at the Institute of Design, where I mastered classical drawing, painting, and composition. This academic foundation allows me to combine professional techniques with my personal artistic vision.

In 2025, I began my exhibition career in Germany, debuting my works in the city of Meppen. This exhibition showcased the first pieces of my new series, reflecting my artistic evolution and integration into the European art scene.
