Alicja Zmigrodzka

A A A A A (aka Alicja Zmigrodzka) creates mixed media paintings from her sunlit studio in Olhão, southern Portugal. Trained through the British Open College of the Arts, her work explores themes of identity, spiritual presence, and transformation through vibrant color and contemplative imagery.
Working primarily with acrylics and oils on canvas, she creates intimate portraits, expansive seascapes, and meditative botanical studies characterized by electric energy and her signature palette of turquoise and neon pink. Her subjects often rest in quiet contemplation, yet pulse with an intensity that engages and energizes viewers.
Her practice celebrates the divine feminine and honors the journey toward authentic self-expression. Through her art, she questions societal and gender boundaries, creating visual meditations on transformation, presence, and the power of embracing one's true nature. Each painting serves as an invitation to explore liminal spaces—the in-betweens where identity dissolves and reforms, where the oceanic meets the extraterrestrial, and where the inexpressible finds form.
