Lushomo Mukonka

My work is an exploration of the boundary between raw emotion and deliberate structure. Working primarily in large-format acrylics, I am drawn to the 'action' of painting, the physical conversation between the artist and the canvas.
​In my latest series, exemplified by 'Structure in Chaos,' I investigate the sensory overload of the modern world. I use high-contrast palettes and gestural brushwork to mimic the noise of our daily lives, then introduce 'scaffolding' through bold, dark lines to find a sense of grounding and logic. My process is a dance of intuition and refinement; I allow the paint to dictate the movement until a balance emerges. For me, abstraction is not an escape from reality, but a more honest way of seeing the energy that connects us all.
