Masami Iida

Born in 1960 just outside of Tokyo, Japan. Went to university majored in Linguistics living in Iowa, Seattle and New Jersey in US 1982-1986. Moved to Melbourne, Australia in 1987.
I'm a full-time artist (oil & pastel/photography). I have well over 35 years of painting experience. I decided to be an artist in my late 20s in the new country, Australia. In late 1997 I took up photography which is a natural extension of my art. I never felt I create anything, but my art is about capturing beauty through my lens and/or on canvas. As I grow older, I see more beauty everywhere from simple things. Whenever someone shares the beauty through my painting/photography is a bonus to me as I certainly do it for myself.
My works can be found throughout North America, Europe, Russia, Japan and Australia.
