Randi Ford is a contemporary, Michigan-based landscape painter whose work explores themes of stillness, renewal, and the sacred presence found in nature. Drawing inspiration from the waters, forests, and expansive shorelines of Northern Michigan, her paintings are rooted in lived experience and a repeated return to place.
Known for her distinctive “flow paintings,” Randi blends the illustrative precision of her B.F.A. training from Grand Valley State University with an expressive, Van Gogh–esque and Group of Seven themes. Her work translates the visual harmony of the landscape into movement-filled compositions, creating a sense of rhythm and visual dance across the canvas. Through this process, she seeks to connect viewers with the divine peace and spirit found in nature.
Her paintings evoke the spirit of the Great Lakes and extend into broader Midwestern and Western landscapes, capturing both the energy and stillness of the natural world. Randi’s work has been exhibited through regional galleries and juried art fairs and is held in private and institutional collections.
