Artist Statement

Renato Pappalardo (Naples, 1995) is a self-taught Italian contemporary painter working in Informal abstraction. His original acrylic paintings explore color as a living presence, capable of movement, depth, and emotional intensity.

Each artwork is conceived as an open space, inviting the viewer into a personal and intuitive experience. Color is central to Pappalardo’s practice: layered, textured, and in constant transformation, it generates visual energy and emotional resonance. Through free brushstrokes and dense applications of paint, his works balance instinct and control, creating surfaces that are both dynamic and contemplative.

Rooted in a strong artistic heritage, Pappalardo developed his passion for painting from an early age, gradually refining a distinctive personal language. His work rejects figurative constraints and defined outlines, focusing instead on gesture, material, and chromatic depth.
