I NEED ART AND I NEED PROXIMITY
Sophie Marlene is a visual artist from Cologne, Germany, who specializes in traditional painting with a strong focus on the human figure. For Sophie, it is difficult to detach herself from her work—harder than she would like it to be. At the core of her practice is a desire to exist, to paint, to learn, and to bridge the distance that verbal communication often creates between individuals. This is why she creates and exhibits her work.

Through her work, Sophie seeks to foster connections between people, using a medium that goes beyond speech or text. She encourages a softer, kinder form of communication, yet remains committed to honesty, rawness, and an uncensored expression.

Group exhibition with Sophie Marlene, Riot über Alles, and Fritz Gnad. The works explore the representation of the human body at the intersection of traditional and digital media, creating hybrid canvases that blur the boundaries between analog and digital expression.
