I am Kate Lea Turton, a wife and mother of three. Born and raised in South Africa, I now live in Zambia along the Zambezi River, where Africa’s soulful landscape and untamed atmosphere shape my work. I draw constant inspiration from light, landscapes, vast horizons, and the emotional, ever-changing natural world around me.
Working in acrylic, oils, and mixed media, I use expressive brushwork and layered colour to create semi-abstract works that capture the mood and feeling of a place, guided by texture, atmosphere, and memory.
Largely self-taught, I studied art in high school and have refined my style through years of personal practice. My background in psychology, fashion, and design informs my approach to colour, composition, and visual storytelling.

As an emerging artist, I am focused on growing my body of work and preparing for future exhibitions in Zambia and South Africa.
