My practice is a contemporary exploration of the intersection between raw physical materials and the shifting, ethereal qualities of natural light and landscape. Focusing on the untamed topology, my work reduces grand vistas to their essential components—utilising wide, horizontal color fields to capture the massive scale and quiet isolation of the coast and highlands.Rather than pursuing strict photographic realism, my paintings serve as atmospheric records of fleeting environmental moments. I embrace loose, impressionistic brushwork and translucent fluid washes, deliberately leaving the natural, rugged weave of the raw canvas exposed. This dialogue between the tactile texture of the surface and the soft palette of the environment anchors each composition, translating the poetic weight of the landscape into minimalist statement art for contemporary collections
