Silence Lee

I am an independent artist from the mountainous region of Lingnan. Rooted in tradition, I use the ink and brush of Chinese painting to document the world as I observe it. Yet my way of seeing is shaped by both Eastern and Western philosophical thought—balancing a pursuit of reality with a longing for transcendence.

I paint the creatures of mountain and stream—birds, insects, small beings in motion and stillness. Through their gestures and gazes, I glimpse something of our own human spirit.

I am still learning—not only the mastery of technique, but also the art of seeing. I believe that while the four edges of a painting have limits, the world itself is vast and boundless. My hope is to push beyond those edges with thought and inquiry—to seek, through art, a deeper understanding of being.
