Touzai Katsushika is a Tokyo-based contemporary artist working at the intersection of Fine Art Photography and String Art. His practice explores the transformation of light into tangible form, bringing together Japanese aesthetics, geometric precision, and contemporary visual expression.

For more than 15 years, Touzai has photographed the landscapes and urban environments of Japan, focusing on fleeting moments of light, reflection, atmosphere, and silence. Rather than simply documenting what is seen, he seeks to reveal the subtle beauty that exists beyond the visible—where light, shadow, and time become part of the composition.

In 2025, his artistic practice expanded into String Art, introducing a physical dimension to his exploration of light. Silk threads, crystals, Japanese Washi paper, and other carefully selected materials are combined with precise geometric structures to transform ephemeral visual experiences into enduring objects.
