P Bourget

My work is a crossroads where contemporary and urban art, modern calligraphy and calligraffiti, abstract expressionism, art nouveau, pop art, gestures, technical drawing, ornamental art, conceptual illustration, cartoon, polaroid art and typography intersect. My pictorial research is propelled by a great respect for the line, a deep affection for familiar textures and symbols and a long journey through transparency. My style, based on abstract calligraphic characters and archetypal silhouettes, is dressed in textures that address simplicity, process, wear and lived experiences. A lexicon where are mixed plant forms, calligraphy of all horizons, symbols, buildings and objects united in a story where the personality of the lines and the game of textures plays an important role.

My influences are diverse, ranging from Franquin to Niels ¨Shoe¨ Meulant, Ces, Seen, Owen Jones, Roy Lichtenstein, Banksy, Keith Haring, Ma Yuan, Jules Chéret, Hugo Prat, Katsushika Hokusai (葛飾 北斎?), to the Lascaux caves.
