Juan Manuel Ortiz Henao

Juan Manuel is a dark figurative artist and tattooist whose work explores the hidden dimensions of the human psyche. His paintings move between beauty and darkness, confronting themes such as desire, shadow, transformation and spiritual transcendence.

Influenced by symbolism, mysticism and the aesthetics of dark art, his work seeks to reveal the tension between the luminous and the obscure within human nature. Through intense contrasts, dramatic figures and evocative symbolism, he creates images that invite the viewer to confront the unconscious and rediscover the sacred within the shadow.
With a background in visual arts and a strong connection to tattoo culture, Juan Manuel develops a visual language that merges classical figurative tradition with contemporary dark aesthetics.

Currently based in Paris, his work continues to evolve through painting, tattooing and symbolic exploration of the human condition.

Juan Manuel studied Visual Arts for eight semesters, developing a strong foundation in figurative drawing, painting and artistic composition.

His education combines academic training with an independent exploration of symbolism, mysticism and the darker aspects of the human experience, which now form the conceptual core of his artistic practice.
