Rishi Vadodaria

Born in India and based in Pune, Mrugendra Keskar is a self-taught artist who discovered his passion for painting later in life. At the age of 70, he picked up a brush for the first time, beginning a creative journey that has since become a meaningful part of his daily life. Now 75, his work reflects a deep appreciation for nature and the quiet beauty found in the natural world.
Working primarily in watercolour and acrylic, his paintings focus on birds, landscapes, and serene scenes from nature. Inspired by the rich biodiversity of India and the calm rhythms of the outdoors, his pieces aim to capture fleeting moments—whether it is the delicate posture of a bird, the movement of leaves, or the stillness of a natural setting.
His late start in art brings a refreshing authenticity to his work. Free from formal constraints, he paints with curiosity, patience, and joy, embracing experimentation and observation. Each painting reflects both a love for nature and the belief that creativity can begin at any stage of life.
