Beatriz Mandarino is a Brazilian interdisciplinary visual artist whose work explores wildlife and biodiversity through painting on textile-based surfaces, including raw canvas and raw cotton. Working primarily with black acrylic ink on raw cotton fabric, she develops a visual language centered on animals as symbols of presence, strength, and ecological balance.
Her practice draws inspiration from Brazilian fauna and reflects on the relationship between nature, territory, and conservation. Through her original works, she develops a visual manifesto in defense of wildlife. While her work is primarily centered on Brazilian fauna, understood as the essence of her practice, it also allows space for variations featuring non-native species.
Her research explores environmental conservation and the symbolic relationships between nature, art, and culture.
Graduated in Advertising and Marketing, Beatriz completed the Drawing and Illustration program at Folium Art School and developed her creative process under the mentorship of Catarina Gushiken in São Paulo. She also participated in an artist residency at the Berlin Art Institute in Germany, where she conducted independent research in drawing and painting.
