ABOUT
Alex Ciattaglia is a self-taught painter based in Rome, Italy. Working in acrylic on canvas, he creates bold pop art portraits of the icons who shaped popular music — from Bowie to Marley, from Mercury to Sinatra — each with the face deliberately erased.
The faceless approach is not a gimmick. It is a philosophy: the music outlives the person. The icon transcends the individual. By removing the face, the painting asks the viewer to complete the work — to project memory, emotion, and their own relationship with the artist onto the blank oval of possibility.
Each canvas is unique, hand-painted with a graphic yet deeply personal sensibility. No prints. No reproductions. Every work exists once, as a single physical object with its own presence and weight.
Alex began painting three years ago, driven by a lifelong passion for music as composer (Nairobi 4 Zero). MusicFaceless Art is his ongoing series, growing from Rome since 2022.
