ABOUT
As a relative newcomer to the art world with no formal background, I paint through fast, intuitive gestures rather than fixed plans. Most pieces begin with a loose idea, but the process quickly takes over; the final image develops through accumulated marks, shifts in direction, and the physical behavior of the materials. I work flat on a table, which keeps the scale close and allows the paint to move, pool, or spread without gravity pulling it downward. Acrylic paint, palette knives, rollers, brushes, paper toweling, and wet‑on‑wet layering all shape the surfaces.
Across hundreds of works, certain structures recur: curved strokes, clusters of paint, diagonal sweeps, spiraling and circular forms, and scraped or stamped textures. These elements aren’t intentionally symbolic; they appear through the interaction of tools, paint, and timing. Color plays a central role, with high‑chroma pigments, temperature contrasts, and layered strokes that often collide rather than blend. Viewers sometimes find psychological or associative imagery in the work, but those readings come from the individuals rather than from an intentional narrative.
