ABOUT
EXHIBITIONS
Based in Tokyo. Ogata’s prints celebrate the beauty of flowers and plant life. Using flowers as a source of inspiration, Ogata freezes one moment within the flurry of life, forever capturing the flicker of ephemeral beauty within one small piece of nature and sharing the moment with her audiences.
Monotype allows Ogata to combine a free and spontaneous printmaking technique with the unpredictability of the process. As well as making prints with bright hues and strong contrasts, her practice includes the production of “ghost prints” which are soft and poetic.
Her monotype works have been exhibited at International print fairs and in galleries both in Japan and internationally.
