Yibo Wang

I am a photographer currently based in Japan, working primarily in urban and landscape photography. My practice focuses on observing the underlying structures of contemporary environments—how movement, order, and human systems shape the visual experience of modern life.

Rather than documenting isolated moments, I am interested in constructing images that reveal patterns and tensions hidden within everyday scenes. Through techniques such as time layering and compositional accumulation, my work often presents a condensed version of reality, where multiple moments coexist within a single frame.

My visual language is influenced by both Eastern aesthetics—such as the concept of “ma” (negative space) and subtle balance—and contemporary urban experience. I aim to create images that are quiet yet dense, restrained yet complex, inviting viewers to reflect on the relationship between human systems and the spaces we inhabit.
