My name is Jessica Bullen-Smith and I was born and raised in South Africa.
I am a self-taught hand embroidery artist, focusing in highly detailed thread painting.
I get inspiration from thoughtful, beautiful detail and life, around us. Imersing myself into this brings me peace and calm.
My work is built through a meticulous process of layering and blending single and double strand threads to create a sense of depth and texture that brings the artwork to life.
Each artwork is a slow, detailed process involving hundreds of hours of work.
