Elizaveta Kvantaliani

Liza Kvantaliani (b. 1999, Tbilisi, Georgia) studied painting at Tbilisi Academy of Fine
Arts. Her work interplays between conscious and unconscious impulses. Through her
paintings, Liza constructs spatial networks using simple yet potent elements such as
figures, colours, and forms. These visual compositions develop into autonomous
dimensions that invite viewers to traverse the depths of their own psyche.
Kvantaliani’s practice is rooted in the concept of residue—traces of human presence and
activity in both urban and natural landscapes. Her work investigates how these remnants
interact with the environment and the human body, reflecting on the subtle and complex
relationship between surrounded environment and personal identity. By shaping emotions,
behaviours, and social connections, she creates a visual language that is both
introspective and spatial.
She has presented her work in various group and solo exhibitions, both in Georgia and
internationally. Her solo shows include "Survival Until Sunset" at Artarea Gallery (2023),
curated by Mariam Shergelashvili, and "A Short Story of the Big Elephant, A Long Story of
the Little Ant" at Ch64gallery, Tbilisi (2024).
