Jane Incao

Jane Marie Incao makes work about movement –– real, or implied.

Bodies, shapes, gestures. Everything in her world feels like it's in the middle of something else.

She's drawn to what she half-jokingly calls "unfinished things" –– blurry photos, half-caught expressions, the way French sounds when you don't fully understand it. That in-between state is where her work lives.

Her paintings strip forms down to their essence: clean, graphic and a little ambiguous.They feel less like static images and more like a movement that you just walked into, mid-scene.

Jane graduated from the University of Arkansas twice, with degrees in both French language and Editorial Journalism.
