Sumudu Mendis

I am Sumudu Mendis, a visual artist based in Kadawatha, Sri Lanka. My journey into the world of art began at home, deeply influenced by my father, who is also an artist. Growing up in such a creative environment allowed me to develop a unique perspective and a lifelong passion for artistic expression from a very young age.

I received my formal artistic training at the Vibhavi Fine Arts Academy, where I mastered various techniques across multiple mediums, including oil, acrylic, watercolor, and charcoal. My work is a reflection of this diverse technical background, often blending the rich textures of oils with the raw, expressive freedom of charcoal and the fluid transparency of watercolors.

In addition to my artistic practice, I am currently an external student at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, pursuing my degree in Psychology and International Relations. My studies in human psychology deeply influence the emotional depth of my artwork, allowing me to explore the intricate connection between art and the human mind. Through Saatchi Art, I am honored to share my vision and Sri Lankan heritage with collectors worldwide.
