Pablo Castro Rabade

I am an architect.

For more than 40 years, I drew with a purpose: to express, understand, & build.
I began with black ink technical pens on tracing paper, later moved into digital drawing programs, and today I draw through programming code and post-production.
Drawing was always both a tool and a language — a way of thinking, organizing ideas, and making possible something that did not yet exist.
Now something has changed: drawing has become an end in itself, while still inevitably trying to express.
I’m working on an open-ended series called “Pareidolic Axonometrics.” There is system, repetition, and an unavoidable constructive logic, but also forms that never fully close, spaces that appear and dissolve, and interpretations that depend on the viewer. The term refers to pareidolia: the mind’s tendency to recognize forms and patterns within ambiguity.
The works are printed on Hahnemühle FineArt paper or cotton canvas.
After so many years, drawing stops being only a means. It becomes, simply, what it is.
