Diana Puspita

My practice explores the relationship between the female body, domestic space, and nature through painting and mixed media. I am interested in transformation as an ongoing process shaped by everyday experiences.

The female figures in my work emerge from my personal experience and concerns as a mother. In many Asian families, mothers are often expected to sustain domestic life while continuously adapting to different roles, responsibilities, and social expectations. This experience leads me to view transformation as an act of resilience, care, and continuous becoming.

I incorporate familiar objects such as kitchen utensils, plants, food, and elements of the natural world as symbols of memory, lived experience, and the connection between humans and their environment. Through expressive mark-making, layered surfaces, and mixed media processes, I construct visual narratives that bring together personal reflection and collective experience.

My work reflects on how the body, home, and nature are deeply interconnected, and how seemingly ordinary aspects of daily life can shape our understanding of identity, belonging, and survival.
