Magdalena Adamczyk

Magdalena Adamczyk is a contemporary painter based in Nottingham, UK. Her practice began with a love of colour and the mesmerising number of combinations to explore; each painting is built slowly, in layers, through a constant shift between playing, failing, fixing, refining and learning to let go.

Her work abstracts from the natural world, drawing on its abundance of shapes and patterns. Pink recurs throughout, a colour she sees as deeply feminine, charged with warmth, intimacy and strength, especially when set against cool tones, white and black.

Born in southern Poland, Magdalena moved to the UK to pursue a PhD degree and spent years working across scientific research and the creative industry, a path that trained her to look closely. She is an exhibiting member of the Nottingham Society of Artists. Her paintings are held in private collections in Poland and the UK.
