My sculpture explores the relationship between stone, movement, light and space. I approach each block of stone as a material with its own character, allowing its natural color, veining and weight to become part of the final work.
Through carving, cutting, hollowing and polishing, I create organic forms that appear to emerge from within the stone. I am particularly interested in the tension between mass and void, weight and balance, solidity and movement. Openings, separations and points of contact are not merely structural elements; they create moments of visual tension and invite light to become part of the sculpture.
My surfaces alternate between highly polished areas and traces of the carving process, creating a dialogue between refinement and raw material. I seek to transform the apparent permanence and heaviness of stone into a sense of movement, energy and inner transformation.
For me, sculpture is a process of discovering what the stone can become while preserving something of what it already is.
