I was born in Hull, where I spent my early years until the passing of my father when I was 12. During that difficult time, I discovered photography as a way to see and understand the world around me. I picked up a camera, and I never put it down.

Photography became more than just an interest; it became a lifelong passion and a way to capture moments, emotions, and stories. Through my work, I continue to explore the beauty in people, places, and the quiet details that often go unnoticed.

I have studied the work of the old masters of photography, including David Bailey and Patrick Lichfield. Their ability to shape the visual language of photography, challenge expectations, and create their own distinctive styles has been a major influence on my approach.

Their willingness to break the mould taught me that photography is not simply about following rules, but about knowing when and why to step beyond them. This philosophy is reflected in my own work. The eyes in my images are not always perfectly sharp because my attention is not always focused on the obvious point of the photograph — I am often concentrating on something deeper: the emotion, the gesture, the atmosphere, or the story taking place within the frame.
My work is about seeing differently. It is about capturing feeling rather than perfection, and creating images that invite the viewer to look beyond the surface.
