My name is An Tran, a Vietnamese lacquer artist deeply inspired by the beauty of traditional art and the rich cultural heritage of Vietnam. Working with lacquer allows me to connect with generations of artisans who have shaped this unique medium, while also finding my own voice within its timeless language.

Nature is at the heart of much of my work. I am endlessly fascinated by the quiet poetry found in flowers, trees, birds, and changing landscapes. Through color, texture, and layered surfaces, I seek to capture not only what can be seen, but also the emotions and stories that exist beneath the surface. At the same time, I enjoy exploring a variety of themes, continuously researching and discovering new subjects that inspire curiosity and reflection.

For me, lacquer painting is more than a traditional technique, it is a living art form that carries history, patience, and craftsmanship within every layer. Through my work, I hope to share the beauty and uniqueness of Vietnamese lacquer art with a global audience, helping more people discover and appreciate this remarkable cultural treasure.
