Svilen Genov

My work is rooted in contemporary mixed media painting, relief sculpture, and experimental material practice, with a focus on handmade recycled paper, plasticine, epoxy resin, and watercolor.

I create handmade recycled paper artworks that explore ecological transformation and material reinvention. Through layering, tearing, and rebuilding of paper surfaces, I construct textured relief paintings in which painting and sculpture merge. These works are defined by rich tactile surfaces, abstract contemporary composition, and dynamic light interactions, in which perception shifts with viewing angle, revealing saturated tones and electric chromatic nuances.

In parallel, I develop plasticine and epoxy resin mixed media reliefs, building highly detailed sculptural surfaces with intense color depth and organic-fantastical imagery. These works function as textural contemporary relief sculptures, often evoking imagined micro-worlds with complex material layering and vivid visual density.

My watercolor works explore atmospheric painting, transparency, and fluid abstraction. They are characterized by softness, lightness, and emotional ambiguity, focusing on movement, silence, and ephemeral visual states.
