Katerina Mychka

I am a Ukrainian artist based in Uzhhorod, currently pursuing a Master’s degree at the Transcarpathian Academy of Arts.

My artistic practice is situated within the field of contemporary art, where I approach painting as a means of exploring materiality, memory, and inner states.

I am interested in painting as a process of continuous transformation, in which the image is never fixed. It can be destroyed, altered, and imbued with new meanings. In my work, the figure often loses its integrity, becoming distorted or disappearing altogether as it transforms into abstract structures.

I explore the fragility of memory, the passage of time, and the relationship between personal experience and visual imagery. Through texture and layering, I create spaces that remain open to interpretation, inviting viewers to form their own associations and meanings.
