My paintings are about calm wild places.
I explore the experience of being outdoors - not only what is seen but the atmosphere, movement, light and feeling of a place.
I love the sense of peace and calm that comes with an expansive view.
I am particularly drawn to the coast and the changing moods of the British landscape.
My style is expressive and impressionistic. I enjoy working in oils and acrylics in my studio and developing sketches that I have made outside in the landscape.
In 2022, I was a finalist in the Sketch for Survival open call, exhibiting at the OXO Building Gallery on London’s South Bank. Since then,
I am mostly self-taught and have developed my practice through ongoing experimentation and study, including recent tutelage from Royal College of Art tutor and Courtauld Institute scholar Martin Kinnear.
I have exhibited widely, in Newbury, Oxfordshire, Petersfield and Somerset. Including Petersfield Museum and The Base, Newbury.
