Ulrich Ernesto Nievergelt

My artistic journey began with sculpture, where I developed a deep appreciation for form, balance, texture, and the relationship between light and space. Over time, photography became a natural extension of this way of seeing. Rather than shaping materials with my hands, I began exploring the world through the camera, seeking compositions that reveal the quiet beauty of everyday places.
Without a formal education in photography, I have developed my visual language through curiosity, observation, and continuous practice. My work is influenced by the sculptural qualities of architecture, landscapes, and weathered surfaces, where light, texture, and composition create their own silent narratives.
I am drawn to places that carry traces of time. My photographs explore the dialogue between architecture, landscape, and memory, inviting viewers to slow down and discover beauty in simplicity. Each series is created as a cohesive visual story, where every image contributes to a timeless atmosphere rather than simply documenting a location.
