Carla Volpi

Throughout my research, I have progressively transcended traditional painting, developing a material and three-dimensional language. I use building materials, fragments of salvaged ceramics, and other recycled elements, transforming them into bas-reliefs and aniconic works characterized by a strong sculptural presence.
Many of my works have been designed as permanent artistic interventions for villas and private residences, where the work engages with the architecture and becomes an integral part of the furnishings and living space.
My research investigates the relationship between matter, light, and perception, transforming common and salvaged materials into evocative surfaces that invite contemplation and reflection on time, memory, and identity.
I am published in the yearbook of the publishing house L'Elite: Selezione Arte Italiana editions 2004 and 2005, in the International Encyclopedic Dictionary of Modern and Contemporary Art 2004 and 2005, in Avanguardie Artistiche 2007 and in Art Diary 2009. Furthermore, the international Interior Design magazine Livinator in 2024 published two works in the column "Embellish Your Home decor with the Optical Art" in interior design

After graduating with honors in Pedagogy with a focus on Philosophy from La Sapienza University of Rome, I worked as a psycho-pedagogue, subsequently dedicating myself entirely to artistic research.
I furthered my training at the Rome University of Fine Arts, attending the three-year program at the Scuola Libera del Nudo. I subsequently earned my academic diploma in Decoration with honors, discussing my thesis: "The Aesthetics of the Enigma and Its Antitheses."

I have participated in solo and group exhibitions in Italy and abroad, including the International Art Expo in New York, The master and the Pupil at Rome, Velletri Town Hall, obtaining important awards, including the Salvador Dalí Prize and the Gold Medal at the Primavera di Pittura Prize.
