I have spent many years exploring the expressive possibilities of glass through sculpture, collectible design, and functional art.
My practice combines traditional and contemporary glassmaking techniques, including kiln casting, glassblowing, slumping, fusing, and sculptural glass. I am fascinated by the relationship between fragility and permanence—qualities that naturally coexist within glass. My recent works feature deeply sculpted surfaces that reflect light while exploring themes of history, memory, human identity, and our connection with nature.
One of my ongoing artistic directions is a collection of handcrafted glass bonsai planters, inspired by my passion for nature and the harmony between living trees and sculptural glass. These works, together with my sculptural pieces, have been presented in exhibitions, galleries, and contemporary art auctions.
Sustainability is also an important part of my creative philosophy. Whenever possible, I transform reclaimed architectural glass into new artistic objects, giving discarded materials a second life while preserving the beauty and integrity of the medium.
Alongside my individual artistic practice, I collaborate with my wife, fashion designer Laura Dailidenienė, under our share...
Viktoras Dailidėnas graduated from the Kaunas College of Arts in 2000, specializing in Fine Glass. He later continued his studies in Stained Glass at the Vilnius Academy of Arts, where he received his Bachelor’s degree in 2004 and Master’s degree in 2006. His academic background in glass and stained glass established the foundation for his multidisciplinary artistic practice and ongoing experimentation with glass as both a material and a medium of contemporary art.
