Shawn Drouin

I was born in a small town in New England, which is where my interest in organic material came to life. I’m a third generation woodworker. My grandfather planted the seed when I was very young showing me tricks of his trade with turn-of-the-century tools and technique. That old school knowledge has followed me throughout the years and haa been partnered with a contemporary twist. I spent my formative younger years in the cold and then moved to the much warmer climate of Southwest Florida I’ve had the privilege of seeing and working with many different textures and materials. My grandfather‘s teachings stay with me as I explore different forms of tooling. When I’m not carving, I enjoy the endurance sport of running. I am a member of a local track club. I also am the Run Club coordinator for a local Running store. I have run a number of half marathons in full marathons Running has taught me a lot about patience and comfort in being uncomfortable. my partner and I enjoy traveling and experiencing many different cultures and foods and have recently been fortunate enough to hike the fisherman‘s Trail in southwest Portugal.

I graduated high school in 1994 and went to work full-time immediately.. I have no formal schooling after that except for the valuable lessons that life has taught me.
