Vinesh Ruchia

I am a self-taught Mauritian artist whose work explores the depth, emotion, and individuality of the human face. Working primarily in portraiture, I combine observational precision with expressive and contemporary elements to create works that feel both intimate and striking.

My artistic practice is driven by a fascination with human expression, identity, and the subtle details that make each individual unique. My approach blends hyperrealistic techniques with creative experimentation, allowing me to move between meticulous realism and more imaginative visual concepts.

Based in Mauritius, I come from a multidisciplinary practical background, with experience in hospitality, welding, electrical work, and plumbing. This diverse experience has shaped my approach to art, giving me a strong appreciation for craftsmanship, patience, precision, and working with my hands.

My goal is to continue developing a distinctive artistic language and bring my work to an international audience through contemporary portraiture.
