Indu Sharma

Based in New Delhi, India, I am a contemporary figurative and abstract artist dedicated to exploring the subtle depths of human emotion and presence. My formal artistic journey was shaped under the mentorship of the legendary master printmaker and artist, Mr. Anand Moy Banerjee, from whom I imbibed the precise understanding of form, structure, and texture. Currently, I continue to refine my artistic practice and develop new bodies of work at the prestigious Triveni Kala Sangam under the expert supervision of Ms. Anju Kaushik. My current practice focuses on creating stylized human faces within rich, textured abstract landscapes. Rendered in deeply tactile oil impasto, unique linear sgraffito, and bold fauvist contours, these figures are conceived as 'Mute Spectators.' They do not speak or demand attention through grand expressions; instead, their intentional flatness and stillness reflect a quiet, contemplative observation of the world. Through these silent profiles, my work invites viewers to slow down, look beneath the surface, and connect with the unsaid thoughts layered within the paint.
