Antoine Heckly

Born in Paris to an architect father and a painter mother, Antoine Heckly was immersed in an artistic environment from a very young age. Passionate about art, he spent all his free time drawing and painting. Although he passed the entrance exams for the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris and was accepted into the AG1 program at ESAG Met de Penninghen, he decided instead to continue his training on his own. As a self-taught artist, he preferred the school of experience, painting out of a pure love for life.

His travels—including a year-long journey around the world—his thirst for learning and sharing, and his love of deep, intense colors have led him to explore numerous styles of artistic expression in painting. He navigates figurative art, hyperrealism, surrealism, pop art, and abstract art. Watercolor, oil, collage, or mixed media—everything captivates and inspires him.

His sole anchor is painting.

Arriving in St. Barthélemy with nothing but a simple box of watercolors, he chose to return to oil painting for a more intense and powerful form of expression.
He settled there permanently in 1993.
