Daiana Antonia

I am a self-taught artist based in Naples, Italy. Art has always been part of my life: my father has been painting for as long as I can remember, so I grew up surrounded by paintings, colors and the creative process. Although our artistic styles are very different, being exposed to painting from an early age naturally shaped my relationship with art.

My paintings are, above all, a way of expressing myself. I use them to give a visual form to emotions, thoughts and inner experiences that are not always easy to put into words. My work often explores self-perception, vulnerability, relationships, loneliness, desire and the contrast between what we show to others and what we experience internally.

I work instinctively, allowing an emotion or an idea to guide the composition. Color plays an important role in my work: I am drawn to expressive, vivid palettes and to the possibility of creating an atmosphere that can communicate a feeling before the story itself is fully understood.

For me, each painting is something personal — a small fragment of an emotion, a thought or a part of myself translated into an image.
