A D Herzel

A.D Herzel is a Korean American Mixed Media Artist, writer, and educator. She has shown professionally in the US for over 20 years, and recently in Korea.

Raised in NY, she received her art training in Philadelphia, where she lived for 20 years. She has subsequently lived in North Texas and in SW Virginia for the past 13 years.

She was awarded the 2023 Works on Paper Fellowship from The Virginia Commission for the Arts, and a Sustainable Arts Foundation Grant in 2021. Her digital work has been published in the Manifest International Drawing Annual, INDA 8, and she has won several awards of recognition.

Her work has been recognized by curators from the Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art, the Amon Carter Museum of American Art, The Kimbell Museum of Fine Arts in Texas and The Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia. She has been represented by galleries in Fort Worth, TX, Nashville, TN and Philadelphia, PA.

Her work is in Virginia Commonwealth University Healthcare Collection as well Beth Rudin DeWoody's Collection.
