Paul Von Sark

Architect and urban designer by training. Painter by instinct.

Where architecture demands control, painting is where I let go of it — flicking and dripping paint in motion, letting gravity finish what my hand starts, and recognizing form in the accident rather than imposing it. The tension between the two disciplines is the engine behind everything I make.

I work on raw, heavy upholstery fabric, left unstretched and unframed — the material carries the same untamed energy as the images it holds.
