Loma Artiste

LomA is a contemporary artistic duo based in Caen, Normandy, France, exploring the expressive potential of ceramics through a minimalist and sculptural approach.

LomA creates sculptures with clean, distinctive lines and a strong presence. Each piece combines glazed and raw surfaces, creating a subtle dialogue between texture, light and material.

The animals are both recognizable and stylized, with an emphasis on simplicity, character and balance. From gorillas to ancestral figures, each sculpture is designed as a contemporary object that can naturally inhabit both indoor and outdoor spaces.

LomA's work reflects a desire to create timeless pieces where craftsmanship and contemporary design meet.

One member of the LomA duo has a background in design, having studied at École Boulle in Paris, a renowned school specializing in arts, crafts and design.

The other brings a close connection to the ceramic industry, collaborating with local Normandy stoneware suppliers and developing a strong understanding of the material and its possibilities.

Together, LomA has developed an independent artistic practice focused on contemporary ceramic sculpture and stoneware, through hands-on experimentation with clay, glazing and surface treatment, with particular attention to sculptural form, texture and the relationship between raw and glazed ceramic.
