Gabriel Galeano

Gabriel Galeano is a Honduran-Spanish visual artist with a career spanning over twenty years in the field of contemporary visual arts. His artistic practice encompasses diverse languages ​​and formats—ranging from painting and installation to contextual art—while exploring the relationships between memory, territory, identity, and sociocultural processes.

Throughout his career, he has participated in major international events and competitions, including the Cuenca International Biennial, the Caribbean International Biennial, and various editions of the Honduras Visual Arts Biennial, thereby establishing a body of work that engages with the dynamics of contemporary Latin American art.

His work has been featured in solo and group exhibitions across New York, El Salvador, Honduras, Costa Rica, and Panama, comprising projects that combine research, formal experimentation, and critical reflection on the contexts in which he intervenes.

Gabriel Galeano’s artistic output is characterized by an interdisciplinary approach that integrates traditional and contemporary media, resulting in works that question the boundaries between aesthetic experience, collective memory, and social space.

Trained at the National School of Fine Arts of Honduras, he holds a degree in Philosophy from the National Autonomous University of Honduras (UNAH). He subsequently pursued a Master’s degree in Philosophy at the University of Seville and obtained his doctorate from the University of Granada, consolidating a career that integrates artistic creation with theoretical reflection and academic research.
