Omar is a Canadian Pop artist whose work explores identity, culture, influence, and the people who shape the world around us.

Working primarily in acrylic, his paintings combine expressive mark-making, bold colour, symbolism, and layered imagery to create works that sit between portraiture, pop art, and neo-expressionism. His approach is less about reproducing a face and more about capturing the energy, personality, and cultural weight behind the subject.

His work draws inspiration from the visual language of artists such as Jean-Michel Basquiat, while developing a distinct voice rooted in contemporary Black culture, music, fashion, and cultural history.

Omar’s paintings often place recognizable cultural figures alongside broader themes of ambition, individuality, struggle, creativity, and legacy. His work asks a simple question: what makes someone influential enough to become an icon?

He continues to build a body of work that celebrates Black creativity and cultural impact while pushing portraiture into a more expressive and contemporary space.
